One way to get closer to the Philippine people, is to get to know their food. Much of it is among the world's most delicious.
Recently, I ate some "dinuguan." Anna Liza gave me the "not nice" look! And she's the Filipina chef, too! She wasn't into the blood part and asked if I planned to become a vampire. Gotta try everything once. Honestly, it wasn't bad. LOL

Here's some squid that Anna Liza's family caught and that she seasoned and cooked. Though the family is not rich, they have no shortage of fresh seafood, vegetables, and fruits. They know how to live off the land. Anna Liza raises chickens, ducks, and pigs, too. Pretty amazing. The average American woman wouldn't know what to do with herself in such circumstances.
